Q.
Why did you decide to study in Japan?
A.
I was interested in the country itself, especially so-called ‘the Otaku culture’. I love Japanese manga, animation, and video game. Also, I used to visit Japan from time to time since I was young and I wanted to stay in this country longer than just visiting.
Q.
What was your best experience while studying in Japan?
A.
The time I spent with my friends is the best moment for me. While participating and leading in the university club, I could make very close friends in Japan who are sharing the same hobbies. We dance together and sometimes play video games as well.
Q.
Through this experience, what did you learn?
A.
When I was in France, I didn’t feel that language is important. However, by improving my Japanese and English skills, I could be able to communicate more clearly and understand the person deeper. I realized that learning new languages is not just gaining communication skills but also entering into other person’s life and getting to know who they are.
Q.
What kind of person should come to Japan for study abroad?
A.
I would say any person! Well, if you are interested in Japanese culture, it is a firm yes. Additionally, if you can associate calmness, cleanliness, and somewhat well-structured order with your values and preferences, Japan would be a good study abroad destination for you.
Q.
What advice can you give to those who are thinking of studying in Japan?
A.
I would recommend studying basic Japanese before coming to Japan. You are still welcomed and can survive in Japan even though you cannot speak Japanese. However, if you have Japanese language skills, a lot more opportunities and experiences will be available for you.
