Q.
Why did you decide to study in Japan?
A.
I decided to come to Japan because I am interested in Japanese culture and my major is also Japan studies. I am very interested in animations and I have made a few Japanese friends, so I wanted to learn the language.
Q.
What was the biggest challenge you experienced while studying abroad in Japan?
A.
Sometimes you don’t understand Japanese you need to ask several times. However, people here are kind enough to explain to you, so don’t worry!
Q.
What can international students enjoy in Japan other than studying?
A.
I took part in circles, and events such as Hina matsuri and carried mikoshi. I also traveled a lot to places such as Kansai (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara), Shikoku, Kyushu, and many more places. There are also many events from the university such as wearing kimono. Furthermore, I did an internship.
Q.
What advice can you give to those who are thinking of studying in Japan?
A.
If you are only a one-year exchange student, then you cannot purchase the student ticket for railways. Don’t be afraid of trying new things. Make the most out of your study abroad experience! So just go out and meet people!
Q.
From 1 to 10 what is your satisfaction rate so far in Japan as an international student?
A.
8/10 satisfaction rate!
I was able to experience many things in Japan. However, due to COVID-19, I was not able to do more. I had some problems with some of the English courses that are taught by some Japanese professors. Overall, it was a great experience.
